Union midfielder Haris Medunjanin has returned for preseason training ready for a successful 2018 campaign. His focus this season is working hard, being a driving force for the team and making it to the playoffs.
"I'm happy to be back again here," Medunjanin said. "We had some good opportunities (last season) and we're bringing in new players so hopefully this season we can make the playoffs."
Before the Union heads down to Clearwater, Florida to continue their preseason training, Medunjanin will compete with the Bosnia and Herzegovina National Team — consisting of two friendlies against the U.S. and Mexico.
When Bosnia and Herzegovina face off against the U.S. on Jan. 28, Medunjanin will be on the pitch against current Union teammate, forward CJ Sapong.
To Medunjanin, playing for his country is a pleasure and an honor.
"It's really nice to be there and play with Bosnia and hopefully we're going to get some good results against the U.S. and Mexico," Medunjanin said.
Medunjanin will return to the Union after his international duties and begin the season on March 3 at Talen Energy Stadium against New England Revolution, with kickoff set to 7:00 p.m. Tickets for the match can be found here.
