Three members of the Philadelphia Union were recognized by MLSSoccer.com with Team of the Matchday Honors as Tai Baribo, Jakob Glesnes and Andrew Rick were named to the squad for Matchday 33.
The trio led the Union's resounding performance against Eastern Conference rival New York City FC which propelled the Union back above the playoff line by a 5-1 road victory on Wednesday night.
Baribo and Glesnes both found the back of the net for the Union in the win with the Israeli forward opening up the scoring in the 15th minute. Baribo then set up the Union's second goal ten minutes later as he slipped a perfectly weighted pass to Mikael Uhre.
Glesnes not only scored his second goal of the season with a towering header in the second half but lead the team with nine clearances including a massive headed clearance to deny Keaton Parks in the 81st minute.
Homegrown goalkeeper Andrew Rick played well above his age with a career-high seven saves in the road victory. The 18-year-old made six of his seven saves in the final half to stave off any chance of NYCFC from getting back in the contest. Just past the hour mark, NYC's Mounsef Bakrar got a slight touch on the ball to flick it over the Union keeper but Rick hustled back and put his body on the line to push it away from its intended destination.
