Philadelphia Union Academy continued group stage play at the 2024 Generation adidas Cup on Sunday with the U17s falling short against FC Cincinnati and the U15s knocking off FC Dallas.
U17s hit a road bump against FC Cincinnati
Philadelphia Union Academy’s U-17 encountered its first set back at GA Cup with a 0-2 defeat against FC Cincinnati on Sunday afternoon.
The second match of the day featured another tense battle in Group A as FC Cincinnati took an early lead in the 6th minute. The Baby Snakes kept their composure as they fought hard for an equalizer but found no luck before the half.
However, FC Cincinatti continued with a strong start to the second half as the quickly doubled its lead. The Baby Snakes fought hard to get a reult out of the game but unfortunately would fall 0-2. The boys will look to use this bump in the road to bounce back quickly, as they go again tomorrow afternoon.

U15s pick up victory against FC Dallas
Philadelphia Union Academy’s U-15 continued its unbeaten form at GA Cup with a resounding 2-0 victory over FC Dallas on Sunday morning.
The matchup featuring two of the most prestigious MLS academies was a tight battle with the Group I contest in a scoreless deadlock after the first 30-minute half. Both teams sought to put their contrasting styles as the dominant one that ended up canceling each other out in the first period with neither side able to generate a scoring chance.
That changed in the second half as Willyam Ferreira converted from the penalty spot to put the Union ahead early in the second half. The Union didn't sit back after the goal and added to their lead 18 minutes later as the Baby Snakes saw Malik Jakupovic score his third goal of the tournament. On the other end of the pitch, the shutout remained with a pair of big saves late to help the team continue their pursuit for a spot in the GA Cup knockout rounds.
The U15s looks to advance to the knockout rounds of GA Cup on Sunday when they take on Inter Miami CF in the group finale on Monday, April 1st at 9:30AM ET.
