With the 2022-23 MLS NEXT season now complete, USSoccerCollective.com has compiled their MLS Academy rankings and at the top of the list is Philadelphia Union.
The list ranks the Union's talent pool at the A+ level and the only club in the league to receive those marks overall in any categories. The Union also rank highly in their "Pathway To The Pros" player development platform where currently nine graduates or members of the Union academy are currently signed with the organization.
"The Philadelphia Union continue to be the standard for academies in Major League Soccer," Marcus Chai writes. "They are unmatched when it comes to player recruitment and talent identification — the youth player pool is deep and ripe with top end talent. The Union not only collect high end talent, but they also have a strong track record of integrating academy players within the first team. They have also shown an ability to successfully export players to Europe."
